Love
Let us be quiet together, you and I
Gently affirm the truth and nail the lie,
Know we are in God's spiritual likeness made
–
Nothing can harm us, nothing make afraid.

Yes . . . but until we glow in this true light,
I will sit up with you, my friend, tonight.
God fills all space. Around, below, above,
There reigns the sweet compassion of His love;
But till the fear has gone, the pain has fled,
Here is a downy pillow for your head,
A sheet pressed smooth, a supper on a tray.

Till false illusions fade and drift away
And as the sons of God we take our stand,
Let there be soothing word and helping hand,
Let the intrinsic prayer have outward sign,
Coincidence of human with divine.

Metaphysical Topic of the Month

To support an atmosphere expectant of healing for our nursing work, we have a special spiritual study topic each month.  We invite you to add your prayers to ours as we explore the current topic.
We welcome community support of this study and would like to hear your fruitage.  Send us an email with your thoughts and ideas!

March – Take you medicine daily

“God being all-in-all, He made medicine; but that medicine was Mind.” (S&H 142)

“God’s preparations for the sick are potions of His own qualities.” (Mis 268)

April – Spiritual transformation of character

“A little more grace, a motive made pure, a few truths tenderly told, a heart softened, a character subdued, a life consecrated, would restore the right action of the mental mechanism, and make manifest the movement of body and soul in accord with God.”  (Mis 354:15)

May – Energies of Truth

“[Christian Science] is Christ come to destroy the power of the flesh; it is Truth over error; that understood, gives man ability to rise above the evidence of the senses, take hold of the eternal energies of Truth, and destroy mortal discord with immortal harmony, — the grand verities of being.”  (Mis. 96: 32)

June – Christian Science nursing; being an “active witness” for Love

“Love is not something put upon a shelf, to be taken down on rare occasions with sugar-tongs and laid on a rose-leaf.  I make strong demands on love, call for active witnesses to prove it, and noble sacrifices and grand achievements as its results.” (Misc. 250:14)

“In love and healing ministry show forth the Truth that makes men free.” (Hymn 12)

July – Man’s Spiritual freedom

“The human thought must free itself from self-imposed materiality and bondage.”   (S&H 191:16)

“The enslavement of man is not legitimate.  It will cease when man enters into his heritage of freedom, his God-given dominion God-given dominion over the material senses.  Mortals will someday assert their freedom in the name of Almighty God.  Then they will control their own bodies through the understanding of divine Science.  Dropping their present beliefs, they will recognize harmony as the spiritual reality and discord as the material unreality.” (S&H 228:11)

August – Yielding to the Immortal Mind

“Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the Lord, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified forever: and serve the Lord your God,” (2 Chron. 30:8)

“Free from sin, our hearts adoring yield themselves to Love’s dominion.” (Hymn 112)

September – Cheerful and Joyous

“Christian Scientists set a good example . . . [they] are cheerful and shed sunshine about them—no insignificant element in true Christianity.” (My 91:6)

October – Life without limitation

“As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life.”  (Man 15:3)

November – Active Gratitude

“Gratitude is much more than a verbal expression of thanks.  Action expresses more gratitude than speech.”  (S&H 3:25)

December – Ageless Being

“The measurement of life by solar years robs youth and gives ugliness to age.  The radiant sun of virtue and truth coexists with being.  Manhood is its eternal noon, undimmed by a declining sun.   As the physical and material, the transient sense of beauty fades, the radiance of Spirit should dawn upon the enraptured sense with bright and imperishable glories.” (S&H 246:10)
