Financial Assistance
Some financial assistance (benevolence) is available for persons who need assistance with paying for services received.
It is the wish of Trustees and staff that Beacon Haven provide proper care to those relying on Christian Science for healing regardless of ability to pay. Of course, Beacon Haven needs to operate on a sustainable basis. A small Benevolence Committee is established to determine the needs and maintain confidentiality.
Once it is determined that financial assistance may be needed, the following will be explored with the patient and/or patient's family: 1. Can the payment be scheduled for the full amount over a period of time? 2. Check that appropriate resources have been used: for example, personal investments, Christian Science Association, patient's Church, etc. 3. Patients are informed of other resources that are available to them: for example, The Principle Foundation and the Dominion Foundation.
Once all resources have been explored, recommendations are made for possible benevolence.
